Apple Watch 2 Concept

With the Apple Watch, Apple managed it once again to rough up the market, in this case the smartwatch-industry. Although they have not shown any figures yet, besides telling that it sells „good“, you can almost be sure, Apple already dominates the whole business. And you can also be sure that there is already a successor behind some secret-doors in California. We of Handy Abovergleich thought about how Apple could make the Apple Watch better and created a concept for the Apple Watch 2, Apple is likely to release early next year.

New design with integrated camera

We start with the esthetics. Our next generation Apple Watch features a thinner design and a display with much smaller bezels. This, together with the OLED-technique used in the screen, leads to great effects and of course an overall bigger display. In addition, the screen is much brighter and has more vivid colors for better visibility outside and in difficult lighting-conditions.

For the first time, our Apple Watch 2 will come with an integrated FaceTime camera good for 1.2 Megapixel photos. Now you also can make FaceTime calls with your Apple Watch.

New materials and bands, now with built in sensors.

Furthermore we suggest some new models and materials for the upcoming watch. In particular there might be new configurations for the Apple Watch 2 and the Apple Watch 2 Edition.

The first one could receive new stainless steel alloys, whereas the latter could be extended by completely new materials like diamond and platinum.

As far as bands and straps are concerned, our concept does show brand new sport-bands that have body sensors built right into the pin: A sensor that can measure your body temperature and another one that keeps control over your blood pressure. To transfer the data collected by the sensors the bands will use Bluetooth and will be directly connected to the watch via the diagnostic port.

As many people wished to have a larger Apple Watch, the next generation of it will come in a 38mm, 42mm and 45mm version. Thus the watch can fit even more personal styles and tastes.

Other features

In terms of other new features, we would like to have an Apple Watch 2 witch a reliably waterproof casing. Also some improvements concerning the dependence on the iPhone could be made, like adding a GPS module and advanced WiFi capability.
